New music from Flying Lotus by way of the album Flamagra – an elaborately choreographed and immersive spectacle that features creative contributions from George Clinton, Anderson.Paak, Little Dragon, Denzel Curry, Thundercat, and more. Standouts include a swim through the stars called “Land Of Honey” (featuring Solange); an equally cosmic prog-jazz number called “Andromeda“; the previously released shot of rightly hostile social commentary called “Black Balloons Reprise (featuring Denzel Curry); a beautifully fuzzy and buzzed love song (well…it feels like a love song to me anyway) called “Spontaneous“ (featuring Little Dragon); a trippy  and hypnotic chant called “9 Carrots“; and the steadily driving (and sweetly funky) “More” (with Anderson.Paak). Honestly though, Flamagra is a massive set and there’s sure to be more standouts cuts after repeat listening sessions – these are just some of my early faves.
