Skyzoo & Dumbo Station – The Bluest Note [EP]

Because of Skyzoo‘s love for his hometown of Brooklyn, I think that I can be forgiven for assuming that the Dumbo Station jazz band that’s credited on his recently released The Bluest Note album was an NYC-based band whose name referenced the Brooklyn neighborhood/district of  DUMBO/Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. The truth is, Dumbo Station is a talented jazz quartet from Rome, Italy whose absorbing nu-jazz sound meshes extremely well with Skyzoo‘s confident coolness and brilliance as an emcee. This collaboration creates an EP that feels scenic in that you can almost see Sky masterfully holding court at the Blue Note Jazz Club NYC with the members of Dumbo Station at his back and a melting pot of music fans creating a classy scene all around him.
