“Sketches” (feat. Captain Reinier Sijpkens) is a transatlantic collaboration between New Orleans-based pop artist Sweetjane X and world-renowned musician Reinier Sijpkens of the Netherlands. Inspired by the time she got lost in Amsterdam with her fiancée (also her producer), “Sketches” is a song about the surprises of falling in love. The day the pair got lost, they stumbled upon Reinier Sijpken’s incredible performance on the canal, complete with his whimsical #muziekboot, barrel organ, flugelhorn, conch shells and whistling. After the performance, he wished the couple “many surprises”. Three years later, they’re making music together!
