Xaver‘s new single “See Through” arrives as something of a tongue-in-cheek R&B offering that is sweetly playful on its surface and unapologetically pleasure seeking at its core. While riding a sun kissed instrumental that’s equal parts jazzy boom-bap and piano-led R&B, Xaver delivers lyrics that are flirty yet frank and upfront when it comes to no-strings sex. “This song speaks about the intricacies of the sexual relationships we build, and how often times they can be very misleading and misconstrued” the Netherlands-based artist remarks about the tune. To me this number sounds like the sort of track that you would hear if you walked into a Benny Sings and Prince Paul recording session with a heavy cloud of Banana Kush smoke filling the room.
