Melii – Winter in New York City [EP]

Melii‘s Winter in New York City EP is a great listen to help make any ice-cold commute considerably easier to bear. The first track on the EP, called “Hey Stranger“, sets up a scene where the young starlet runs into an old flame who she hasn’t seen in a while. It’s not a cheerful reunion however as her ex doesn’t seem as enthusiastic about life as he once was. This kind of hits home for Melii because she remembers how much this guy meant to her. But while it’s clear that she empathizes, it’s also clear that she isn’t trying to rekindle their flame.  The second track is called “Would You Let Me Go” and places Melii in a relationship where she is tired of being with someone who just keeps putting her through the same toxic cycle over and over again. By the end of the track, it becomes blatantly clear that Melii wants out of the relationship.
