Jessica Kuka – Reminiscing [Single + Video]

New sights and sounds from Jessica Kuka courtesy of the new video for the single “Reminiscing“. It is a poetic story that takes the listener into the life of someone who is recovering from past sexual abuse. You can hear a level of fragility and loneliness in the singer’s voice, but it gives way to a confrontational resolve in the end. The vocals soothe and ease you, but the lyrics hit on a topic that makes one think of the ways abuse can shape lifelong habits. This song is meant for everyone as its message resonates so much more than words can say.

This is a song that has more high points than low points and one that the listener will still find compelling after multiple listens. Listeners will probably be listening to this song fairly regularly for at least a month or until something the same or better comes along. Even after that, the listener will most likely revisit the song a few times during the year.
