Concept & Apbeatz – Woes (feat. Apollo Black) [Single]

I love a good mellow conscious rap song. “Woes” by hip-hop artist, Concept gives you exactly that. It has everything a conscious rap song needs: a story, a message, clever wordplay, and a sick beat! This song was short but sweet and to the point. That straightforwardness gives it that extra oomph and it packs a punch! Producer Apbeatz also really gives you that old-school hip-hop atmosphere with a touch of jazz. Many great hip-hop beats have this kind of base. It was a great choice for Apbeatz to take that route. Concept really bounces himself off the beat with the lyrical capacity he brings forth. I appreciate the clarity of the entire song. Each note, sound, and, word is very crisp and that reverb is a perfect touch for the track’s innovative aura. I would consider this a great triumph for the artist as well as the producer.
