TURNA & Gillian Mapp – Hold On [Single]

Gillian Mapp, a singer and songwriter with a gift for delivering sweetly soft vocals and confessional lyrics, has collaborated with music producer/arranger TURNA on a new single called “Hold On.” In the track Gillian sings about being utterly wrapped up in the love of a special someone, while TURNA combines elements of electronica and soul music to create a deeply moving soundscape. The song is built atop chunky, lo-fi drums that fire off at a breakneck pace before layers of thick, swirling synths and atmospheric pads are added to create a lush sonic environment. Gillian sings in a delicate, hushed tone that creates a beautiful contrast to the fast-paced drum beat and wide-open spaces created by TURNA’s production. When all is said and done, “Hold On” is a stunningly beautiful love song that gets better with each listen.
