Jabee – GOOD [EP]

A soulfully honest, self-examing, and introspective opus, Jabee‘s new GOOD EP is a solemn collection of songs that reflect on the southern emcee’s life experiences and the lessons learned from them. Produced entirely by Conductor Williams, the album’s production has a very serious and somber feel to it that really calls attention to Jabees‘s ruminative lyrics and message. The set also features guest appearances from Boldy James, Blu, and Scoopay – all of whom support Jabee‘s meditations on life with a perfect balance of subtlety and force. The GOOD EP is Jabee‘s third short-length album to be released in a trio of EPs, following last year’s AM (which dropped back in August) and I (which dropped back in October). All of the albums are part of an extended roll-out for the rapper’s next full-length LP, AM I GOOD ENOUGH, which is set to touch down later this year. Admittedly, this EP isn’t going to be for everyone, especially with its reflective and sometimes somber tone. But if you like your hip-hop to display more depth than danceability, then you’re definitely going to want to check this one out.
