Bas – Diamonds [Single + Video]

Rapper Bas recently released the single “Diamonds,” and it’s a must-listen. The soothing, alt-hip hop track has the Dreamville emcee singing about staying true to yourself regardless of what others may say, and it’s a message that many can relate to. The song also has an accompanying music video, which features some haunting black-and-white footage of Bas looking notably alone in a dimly lit room full of hangers-on as well as in a crowd full of fans. Be forewarned though, the ending may be triggering for some as it shows the rapper being slowly hung by his own gold chain in front of a stadium of on-lookers. Still, the hook is great, the verses are solid, and the beat will have you bobbing your head along with a few “yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah..” ad-libs here and there.
