The poignant neo-soul number is as insightful as they come and really makes use of its plush and soulful soundscape bolstered by Ego Ella May‘s soothing vocals and keen-witted lyrics. The south London vocalist offers some refreshing insights into what it means to be human. Theo‘s trumpet playing gives the track a cool and breezy vibe that makes the listener feel like they are cruising down the highway on their way to somewhere new. The song’s mellow sound is partially due to the contributions of keyboardist/producer D’LEAU (formerly known as Brook D’Leau of the future-soul duo J*DaVey). This is the first and only single from Croker‘s soon-to-drop EP By The Way, which hits streaming services on February 20th.
