Just stumbled upon Leo Pesci‘s track “Power Clash“. It’s a no-nonsense tune that gets right to the heart of what it’s like trying to make it as an artist today. Pesci‘s voice is chill but hits hard nonetheless, and producer/instrumentalist Jackson Mathod‘s flugelhorn backs him up perfectly. Together they sketch a scene of the real deal struggles and highs in the art world. Adding to the mix is D.C. emcee Moeazy who jumps in with a verse that’s all about toughing it out and grabbing hold of your chances. Off his album Impolite that dropped a couple of months ago, it mixes jazz, hip-hop, and soul. It’s a direct salute to staying loyal to your sound, come what may.
