ACZINO – Neza (feat.g Kid Frost) [Single + Video]

Neza” by ACZINO, featuring Kid Frost, immerses listeners in the unsparing life and built-to-last spirit of Nezahualcóyotl, Mexico. With a beat from Scoop DeVille and Ettore Grenci, the track layers authentic street themes and schemes into its rhythms.

Kid Frost sets the tone with a point blank line, “mi vida loca, me vale porca” (“my crazy life, it’s worth it to me”) signaling a life steeped in chaos yet embraced fully. He touches on hood culture and the need to stay ready for anything with lines like “quantes on me, Ese, that’s two pistolas/ Three parts pure, one part baking soda,”  and  “I’m a mean go getter, glands of adrenaline/ Quick on my toes like I’m laced with a phetamine/ Seasoned rap veteran, I ain’t gotta floss/ Every move that I make let’s you know that I’m a boss.” The Chicano hip-hop legend puts on display his life’s balance between taking risks and making it known who holds the crown, showing his seasoned approach to both the music and the streets.

ACZINO goes into his roots with, “mi barrio pesa se llama neza, neza/ puro pinche loco con tatuaje en la cabeza/ no te metas en lo que no te interesa/ porque el coyote está hambriento y está buscando presa” (“My hood is called Neza, Neza/ Pure fucking crazy guys with tattoos on their heads/ Don’t get involved in things that don’t interest you/ Because the coyote is hungry and is looking for prey”). He paints Neza as an unpitying yet pivotal part of his identity, filled with pride and pressure and demanding respect for the survival required there. Directed by Estevan Oriol, the video sums up the heart of the track with scenes that quick cut through neighborhood life in and around Nezahualcóyotl.

From start to finish, “Neza” comes through as a grit-lined summary and salute to the lived experiences of its creators – threading their stories into verses that pulse with deep-rooted pride. With slick rhymes and no-frills wisdom, ACZINO and Kid Frost paint sharply etched pictures of their lives, reaching out to listeners who find bits of their own stories in the music.
