“Righteous Path” by Sonny Panda, featuring Cinoevil, pulls you right into the hard-nosed reality of life in the trenches where it can feel as though every breath is a roll of the dice. Sonny‘s opening lines hit like a freight train: “Aye yo, it feels like my life’s on the line / Livin’ the life of crime / Gotta watch out for one time.” You can just about taste the tension, with every corner hiding a cutthroat or a cop ready to introduce a little hell into his life.
Sonny digs deeper, showing a world where sleepless nights and constant threats are the norm: “Having nightmares all the time / If the haters don’t get you the pigs is right behind.” It’s a relentless game of cat and mouse with his enemies, messing with his head and leaving him haunted by a past he wishes he could “rewind the hands of time” on.
Then Cinoevil jumps in, tearing apart the fake loyalty and flashy shows of wealth: “Cause ain’t nobody hit you til they need you / But they brag about their ice like they ain’t get it from Temu.” He keeps up a steady pace of lacing his bars with pop culture references (“One Swisher got me in space like I run Twitter”) – all the while cutting through the BS and pushing for you to “…be yourself and be smooth”.
The cut wraps up with a solid call to look in the mirror: “Blaming everybody else but the common denomination / In the mirror… / Come up close and see it clearer.” Closing with a blunt reminder that real change starts from within.
Sonny Panda and Cinoevil cut through the noise with a hard-hitting, no-bull story of survival and self-discovery in a hard-hearted world where every choice can spell the difference between your doing it big or dealing with your downfall.
