Trump Administration Works With Officials On Criminal Justice Reform

Reporter Seung Min Kim recently wrote an interesting article about President Trump‘s efforts to press members of his administration on the issue of criminal justice reform.
Honestly, I was surprised to read that some of the points that are being hammered out deal with things like lowering mandatory minimum sentences for drug felonies, reducing the disparity in sentencing guidelines between crack cocaine offenses and powdered cocaine offenses, allowing judges to issue shorter sentences for low-level crimes, and more. I’m not sure if President Trump (or Jared & Ivanka) sincerely cares about this issue (hahahaha….doubtful), if Kim Kardashian is affecting policy changes with the administration (eh….possible??!?!), or if he’s just doing this to mess with Jeff Sessions (I wouldn’t put it past him).

Thursday’s meeting in Bedminster follows “successful meetings with inner city pastors and Republican senators last week,” White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said Thursday.
