Electronic music connoisseur Radius (of the group Beyond Luck) and gracefully voiced songstress Lailah Reich come together to form the new musical body Dai.L as they unveil their weightlessly moving self-titled debut album. Falling somewhere between a lean, downtempo piece and an impromptu shot of bedroom-studio nu-jazz, Dia.L is an airy dose of lounging, lo-fi grace with standout moments such as the atmospheric “Wide Eyed” (featuring Kenny Keys and Jana Buttanari); a shifting, downtown lit anthem called “Trade Winds”; a plucky, stutter-step cut called “Poi Tree”; and the somewhat strangely titled, uptempo opener “Sadnessssss”.
