The Sta High Bros (Vitamin D + Maneak B) toast up the holidays and the hood life in their own special way with their album Eggnog and Hennessy. Most folks probably wouldn’t classify this as a “holiday” album due to the way that the pair celebrate getting high, unloading gunfire on ops, and crazy ass black comedy skits. But I’m one of those people who believes that movies like Die Hard and Bad Santa are Christmas-time classics. Standout cuts include the hedonistic and darkly funny “Backdoor Santa“, a soulful gun-clap anthem called “Blow” (which features Topspin), and a bit of west-coast-thuggin’-meets-Jingle-Bells satire called “Slay Ride” (which features Omitosin and Ladybird Lex). There’s also a dope interlude called “The Toast” that puts a nice twist on the Kurtis Blow hit “Christmas Rappin“.
