New music from Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Hailes with the release of her single “Escape” – a warm and welcoming number where the singer tells her sweetheart that she wants them to leave the chaos of the big city behind for a simpler, more relaxed space. Her lyrics create feelings of contentedness and serenity and makes her argument very hard to resist. Hailes’ lovely center-soprano has a fleecy feel to it and the tune highlights the singer’s ability to hit and maintain full-bodied notes in a lower register while still managing to float above the mostly-acoustic arrangement backing her. She matches the cozy production created by Charles Myers and Daniel Winshall and draws the audience into a mellow state in such an easy way.
“ ‘Escape’ was the first song I wrote 2 and a half years ago when I started making music. I wrote the song on an old out of tune guitar on the train traveling from Brooklyn to Manhattan for work. A year later I became friends with two incredible producers, Charles Myers and Daniel Winshall who I finished and co produced the song with.” the singer offers while detailing the origins of the song.
“Escape” is the third single from Hailes, following the tracks “Come Thru” and “Orange Confetti” from last year.
