Shells456 – Livin’ Room [EP]

Shells456 is an aspiring rapper hailing from West Philadelphia who is a particularly interesting artist to me because his music has so many earnestly confessional moments that are accentuated by starkly melodic instrumentals. His five track debut EP, titled Livin Room, is a very personal body of songs that takes the listener from overcast days filled with “heart-on-your-sleeve self-examination to bright nights marked by chanting amped-up anthems in the street.  Standouts on the EP include “Ghetto Babies” (which features Shoot Corleone), “Dreamer”, and lead single “Gurl”.
