Lucille Ghatti‘s new three-song EP Can We Get To Know Each Other? focuses on the tightrope walk between caution and risk when it comes to affairs of the heart. In the opening number, titled “Risky“, she holds nothing back when opening up about what she wants to blossom between herself and her on again/off again bae. “Wild Wild (World)” is a cautionary ditty written to warn a young person (or perhaps Ghatti herself?) not to be too infatuated by love at first sight when the object of their affections may not have the best intentions. In the final track, “Call Me“, Ghatti seeks to clear the air with her man after having fallen out over some unknown offense that she feels she has committed against him. By exploring these themes of caution, risk, and vulnerability through different points of view, Ghatti shows her immense talent as a songwriter whose music can provide both serious contemplation and soul soothing pleasure for listeners of all sorts.
