“Dust Off“, from Santa Cruz-based emcee Amplified., is a song that expresses feelings of defiance in the face of adversity and a desire to be remembered for a lifetime of hard work and dedication. It’s an excellent “braggin‘ writes” type of joint about having self-confidence in the face of all odds and proving to doubters that you know what you can do. The production is clean and simple with a nice filtered loop rolling beneath a boom-bap kick-drum and snare pattern. This jazzy rap track moves at a nice steady pace, but there’s still enough variation in the beat to keep it from getting boring.
