Action Bronson – Cocodrillo Turbo [LP]

Action Bronson‘s Cocodrillo Turbo is a larger-than-life hip-hop album that features the emcee’s commanding rhymes on top of cinematic, sample-driven production. Choosing not to reinvent the wheel, Bronson laces this latest project with the same gritty street bravado as previous projects like Lamb Over Rice and White Bronco – but that is absolutely a good thing. There is a strong emphasis on the musical and lyrical aspects of each performance, with the beats and rhymes each battling for top-tier status. This is an album that listeners will like more than they dislike it. It’s an album that has at least  2 or 3 standout tracks that listeners will most likely revisit outside of listening to the entire album (ie add to a playlist, look up just to hear it/them again). This album may have filler tracks, but overall the album works.
