OSO – R- (pt 2.) (feat. Amoit & Phoebe Thestor) [Single]

This song, which is simply titled “R- (pt 2 is its own form of sensual energy. You will find yourself mesmerized by the soothing chemistry that exists between the vocals and the production. Although this is a track from singer/producer OSO, he definitely spends more time behind the soundboard than he does behind the mic. The Kenyan sound provider decided to keep his verse short and sweet for this single – spending most of his time crafting a lush soundbed for featured artists Amoit and Phoebe Thestor. For her part, R&B singer Amoit fills the air with warm harmonies and beautiful cooing while Phoebe delivers a sultry rap verse for listeners to dig into. This is a song that is deeply passionate, quietly uplifting, and exceedingly soulful.

7/10 – Very Good
This is a song that has more high points than low points and one that the listener will still find compelling after multiple listens. Listeners will probably be listening to this song fairly regularly for at least a month or until something the same or better comes along. Even after that, the listener will most likely revisit the song a few times during the year.

About the artist...

I’m a rapper, singer, producer and pianist. I started off with piano where I taught myself to grade 8 ABRSM level. I play classical and new age classical on piano because I find it to be the palette that represents me best.

I started writing music when I was 10 to express myself better because I’m very much introverted and find it quite difficult to talk to people.(I mean I did go to school and learnt communication skills so I’m not that badly off!)

I taught myself production because I could not afford a producer. (Necessity…) My production style is unique to merging elements such as choirs, vocal harmonies, piano and 808s and samples. I produce for myself as well as other artists such as Ctrl KDGold Triggah and Phoebe Thestor.

My production style and skills are greatly inspired by Kanye West, Noah 40, Mike Dean, and Hit Boy.

My vocal and music style takes great influence from DrakeJAY-ZAlicia Keys and Trey Songz.

I use music to express who I am and what I feel. Therefore, I find myself expressing in different genres because I believe every expression requires its unique palette. My first album W.O.E.S, was Hip Hop centering on themes of my problems (WOES) and how I’m Working On Excellence through them (W.O.E.S)

My second project, R- is R&B expressing a true story I curated over 9 months. Check it out!
