Even though the band Kiki Diago is singing about the regret we all feel when we hurt someone we care about, the end result is a beautiful piece that would be an excellent accompaniment to a late-night zone-out session or just reflecting on a pleasant day. I think the most enjoyable aspect of the song is the way that it’s constructed. It’s a mellow, dreamlike track that sort of glides along in a cool, breezy, relaxing way. The lead singer’s airy vocals work well with the reflective nature of the lyrics. This adventurous mix of jazz, rock, and soul-like qualities will leave listeners with a lingering feeling of nostalgia.
8/10 – Excellent
This is a song that listeners will be telling all of their friends about. It is a track that I am hard-pressed to find anything to complain about beyond a few trivial nitpicks or annoyances. It may not be the best song of the year but it may very well be in the top 10.
