Queen Colobus – Black and White [Single]

I am absolutely IN LOVE with U.K.’s neo-soul band, Queen Colobus! I’m even more in love with their song “Black and White“. From the music down to the lyrics, everything came together organically! Lead singer Beth Hopkins gives off Lily Allen vibes with a dash of Maxwell and Macy Gray! You can honestly get a little bit of everything in this track, including the extra groove of soft guitar riffs and gentle drumming. None of the elements in this track overpowered the other.

They say everything is in the details. This is one of those tracks where all its qualities came together simultaneously. It is musically orgasmic and I personally don’t think anyone else’s voice could’ve meshed so well with this track. This was an eloquently substantial song! The entire theme of everything really gave this track the depth that has been exhibited here! Queen Colobus is one of those bands that is ahead of its time but is also NEEDED in this time. This is a great work of art!
