MAVI – Laughing So Hard, It Hurts [LP]

The latest release from rapper MAVI, Laughing So Hard, It Hurts, is a solid album that features production credits from Wulf Morpheus, Dylvinci, ovrkast, Coffee Black, Amarah, Monte Booker, and more. Standout songs on the album include “Quiet on Set“, “My Good Ghosts“, “Opportunity Kids“, “Baking Soda“, and “Chinese Finger Trap“. The production throughout the album is excellent and sets the tone for each song nicely. It ranges from trap beats to ambient instrumentals with plenty of bass drops to keep you engaged throughout the entire release. But that’s not even what makes MAVI amazing. It’s his lyrics—he has such an engaging voice and way with words that he can take almost any idea and make it into something beautiful. He’s got a gift for crafting lyrics that are smart but not too smart that they become inaccessible – they just sound right when you hear them.
