Ivy Sole – Candid (Director’s Cut) [LP]

Ivy Sole‘s newly re-released album Candid (Director’s Cut) is a captivating exploration of identity, self-worth, and the emotional labor it takes to build connections with others. The original version of the album, released back in February of 2022, was Sole‘s third full-length album and has been widely met with critical acclaim since its release. Just like before, this new version of the album explores issues of family, love, and memories with a soulful thread running through it. However, this time around there are also a couple of new songs as well as some reworked versions of songs from the original. Highlights on the album include previously loved numbers like “Call Me“, “Bamboo“, and “One More Night” as well as the new gems “Don’t Hide” (which features frequent collaborator Kingsley Ibeneche) and “D.A.R.E.“.
