JØAK – ÉTER (Mar // Sed) [Single]

JØAK, an export from the Chilean music scene and known legally as Joaquín Ignacio, wears multiple hats effortlessly – he’s a crooner, a beat maker, and an artful deck manipulator who discovered his passion for music early on. Recently, the young Chilean creative dropped a touching single, called “ÉTER (Mar // Sed),” which he co-produced with fellow Chilean producer/beatmaker Louar. Translating to “ETHER (Sea // Thirst)” in English, the song dives deep into the world of R&B while still retaining a ballady pop sensibility that makes it incredibly infectious.

Giving voice to his inner evolution, JØAK uses lyrics sprinkled with images of fire and revival, as he conveys his struggle to break ties with his past. From the start, our singer sets a mood of bittersweet transformation with the lines “Esta vez/ No sserá igual/ Entre mi piel/ Un fuego audaz/ Invade mi ser” (“This time/ It won’t be the same/ Among my skin/ A bold fire/ Invades my being”).
