NugLife – WESTSIDE LUV (feat. Traffic & Trizz) [Single + Video]

WESTSIDE LUV,” NugLife’s latest banger, cruises into the scene with all the trappings of a classic West Coast anthem, featuring Traffic and Trizz. With NugLife on the decks, the chorus rolls out smooth as he crafts beats that feel like they’ve been lifted straight out of a late 70s West Coast jazz funk or yacht rock track—laid-back yet filled with soul.

Traffic spits his truth with bars like, “Bitch I’m blowing through the bag/ I remember I was broke, now I’m pushing a Jag/ Not knowing where I’m heading, I’m just doing the dash/ got the mixer, now I’m drinkin’ and I’m smoking the gas,” sliding a 90 proof, straight-no-chaser verse smoothly down the bar. His voice adds a smoke-filled and distinct L.A. twang to the piece – cool and detached.

After a radio-styled interlude from NugLife, Trizz breezes in, his flow slick as it offers a melodic sharpness and “keep it pimpin’, Pimpin‘!” energy to the cut. And when he drops the lines “I’m in a cream color whip on sunset/ feeling on top of the world butta sunset,/ Getting all of this love, but it ain’t fun yet/ It’s tricky nigga, you trippin‘ if you ain’t bought a gun yet,” he’s got his confidence showing, managing the spotlight and street life without a hitch.

The visuals, directed by J Bone, throw it back with the trio chilling in an airplane hangar, surrounded by fine company and a vintage Rolls Royce, then rolling through the streets of LA, laid-back but sharp. Aerial and street level scenes of Cali life stitch together the expansive vibes of the city, from the palm tree lined neighborhoods to the sprawling highways.

WESTSIDE LUV” is a sly nod to Cali culture, the enduring spirit of the Golden State’s music scene, and a heads-up that these three are always ready to put on for their city. So, if you ain’t listening yet, you’re missing out.
