Themes of love, trust and anticipation are explored in the aching mid-tempo ballad “Leave U Alone” from singer-songwriter Sydney Renae. The singer finds herself putting her insecurities on display in the self-produced piece. This is a gentle and serene song about letting down your guard in order to open yourself up to the possibility of being in love again, even though past heartbreaks have made the thought of being vulnerable to someone new and scary proposition. But it’s also an admission that our leading lady may ultimately have to give into this new romance as it appears different from her past flings. Renae gives us a very intimate and mature R&B tune that is well executed and her toned down and tender voice sounds lovely.
