Gwen Bunn – Put It On Me [Single]

Whenever I hear these songs that are short and simplistic, there’s always that 50/50 chance that I’m going to want more. “Put It On Me” by Gwen Bunn, an up-and-coming R&B/soul artist did NOT disappoint! In this industry, it can be hard to make something in a world where everything has been done. However, this artist was able to have that nostalgic 90’s soul sound with a modern eclectic twist. You’re probably wondering why I’m using the word “eclectic” when it comes to this track but frankly, the track speaks for itself! The sound is, for lack of a better word… Different! In every sense of it, might I add. It’s something I believe the masses haven’t heard in a long time. Something that people have been longing for when it comes to music. Down to the sound effects bouncing off of each other in the beat, this is nothing short of original. Also, The lack of verbiage on the track also adds to the track’s unique ambiance. The beat gives off a bit of Timbaland vibes. Gwen Bunn‘s voice, however, gives it a softer touch, which balances out the track perfectly. The world deserves a little more of this artist and I personally hope to hear more of her.
