D. Mitchell – Nice Clothes [Single]

D. Mitchell is a talented rapper who isn’t afraid to state his honest opinion in song. On his newly released track entitled “Nice Clothes“, we hear a young man reflecting on his life over a hazy and wavy instrumental. Throughout the song, D manages to effectively wrap his arms around the joys and pains that come with growing up into a mature young man in a superficial world. The track features a laid-back, trap-influenced instrumental with just the right amount of build-up, intensity, and bombast.

“Nice Clothes” explores the theme of change by examining life’s transitions in a thoughtful and introspective manner while maintaining a really cool vibe. In the end, I really enjoyed this song. It felt personal, and it spoke to me in a way that few hip-hop songs have. The overall feeling that I got from “Nice Clothes” was one of self-reflection, and it seems as if its message extends beyond the specifics of D. Mitchell‘s life. It’s about reflecting on your past and present self – what you were like then, how things have changed over time, and where you’re going now.
