Chance the Rapper – Buried Alive [Single + Video]

Chance the Rapper comes out swinging on his latest single, “Buried Alive,” a rap anthem that’s unmistakably Chance with its soulful beat, razor-sharp bars, and inspiring themes. Produced by DexLVL and Dwayne Verner Jr., the track’s crescendo of strings, muffled kick drums, and boxy hand claps creates a raw, hungry vibe. Chance sounds both invigorated and battle-tested, as he spits freestyle bars that reflect on survival and fortitude – blending in metaphors of being “buried alive” and rising above misery.

Just like the iconic Kill Bill vol 2 sequence, the video (directed by Chance himself) immediately grabs your attention as it flashes the track’s lyrics on a pitch black screen before slowly revealing a claustrophobic scene of Chance trying to punch his way out of a pine box,  The track is rumored to be part of his upcoming Star Line project, and it’s already getting better buzz and receiving more love  the lukewarm reception of his previous album, The Big Day.
