Lady London – Never [Single + Video]

New sights and sounds from Lady London courtesy of the single “Never” – a cathartic number that recalls some of the setbacks that London has had to push through over the years. The words are revealing and somewhat somber, but London never comes across as being defeated. In fact, she holds firmly to a  “I may be down but don’t count me out” attitude throughout this very personal piece. London’s voice has a distinct matter-of-fact affect to it, but the dead-calm in her tone is 100% appropriate if you consider the context in which the lyrics were written. “This record is my first child—the very first song I recorded the day I landed back in LA and discovered that I had lost two years worth of my ONLY material on my hard drive. Every song I recorded in my entire career was on that disk. I bled my soul on this record.” the determined performer says about the single. When all is said and done,  “Never” motivates with a message of allowing yourself to feel down after defeat while also hanging on to that sliver of strength that will help you go on.
